Cortex Tools
Tennessee
ex: J. Fleming
Both artifacts are a creamy colored flint that may be a Burlington chert material.

4 3/8" x 2 1/2"
This tool has alot of polish on it's bit end that was most likely caused by a wood working chore or a hide deflesher.

3 3/4" x 1 7/16"
This piece still has it's original rind on its end and is lightly ground on it's hafting area. The tip is rounded/blunted from use-wear. Nice heavy duty Archaic knife.

Benton Narrow Blade
Hamilton Co. TN
3 3/4" x 1 5/16"
ex: C. Clemens
COA says material is Dover but looks like a bleeched out Fort payne to me. This Benton variant is steeply beveled on one face. Looks like a transition into a drill/reamer tool. Very unique Archaic knife.

Chipped Adz & Celt
Hardin Co. TN
ex: J. Fleming
Field finds found along the Tennessee River. Both look like Fort Payne materials. Humped Adz does have a couple of impliment strikes that show a patina disturbance but do not affect atifact shape. Celt is great example with polish over entire bit area and along its face. Very attractive material with blue & bleached out quartz type veins.
